One thing I’ve learned in my years of web hosting experience is that there is NO one single web hosting service that provides the high quality service and support I expect. They have all fallen short in at least one area – sometimes more than one.

Following are all examples of problems I’ve experienced…

• Their technical support is provided by some off-shore entity not directly associated with the hosting provider. The technicians command of the English language may be limited, making communication difficult.
• Their reliability may be less than advertised. When I frequently experience 404 page not found errors on my site or slow performance, it’s probably time to look for another provider.
• Some web hosting providers don’t seem to be adequately protected from hackers who can easily corrupt your web site.

In an effort to discover a “better” web hosting provider and based on many referrals, I have chosen HostGator to be the latest in a string of hosting providers to evaluate.
